What We Believe

That there is One God existing in three persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit).

That Jesus Christ is not a mere man or just a good teacher but God in human flesh. (John 10:30; Col. 1:19; Phil. 2:5-8)

That we, along with all people, are sinners and deserve to be separated from God forever in hell. (Romans 6:23)

That by His death on the cross Jesus paid the debt we owed to God for our sins so that we need not be separated from God forever in hell. (Colossians 2:13-14)

That all who believe in Jesus and are baptized will be saved from hell, made children of God, and live forever with Him in heaven. (Mark 16:16)

That our salvation is God’s work from beginning to end. We cannot save ourselves or make a contribution to the process. (Ephesians 2:1-6)

That God does this work of saving us here and now through the preaching of the Gospel and Baptism (Mark 16:16) and that He sustains our faith and forgives our sins in the Lord’s Supper.

That Baptism is God’s work (not ours), whereby He creates faith, makes us His children and gives us the Holy Spirit (Gal.3:25-27; Titus 3:5-8; Acts 2:38-39). Since all are born in sin and need to be forgiven and since God is perfectly capable of doing His work in even those who seem the most incapable (like infants), we baptize infants.

That in the Lord’s Supper the true body and blood of Christ are given with the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins. (Matthew 26:26-29; I Cor. 11:27-30)

That the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God according to which all teaching in the church must be judged. (II Timothy 3:16)
